on anger
Anger is an emotion that separates; it cuts us off from others and causes internal pain as well. It can mutate into resentment, a long-term destructive emotion. Cold anger can settle into our psyche and harden our hearts. Its toxic side-effects pervade our words and deeds and spread like poison into the lives of those around us. As a response to loss, it is not the best route to travel.
- Mike Binder, review of the movie The Upside of Anger (Kevin Costner & Joan Allen)
Anger can become one of our juiciest ingredients. If we have a tendency toward anger, we don't deny it or block it out. But we don't observe or analyze it either. We let our anger arise, so that we can feel anger fully. We sit with the anger. We become the anger. When we do that we can see what anger is all about. The anger will transform of itself — into determination, for example." We can't tell you the surprise that enables Terry to move beyond her rage, but the ending makes perfect sense and speaks volumes about the power of emotions to impact our lives and the lives of those closest to us.
- Bernard Glassman & Rick Fields

FRIENDSHIP TIPS
2. There is nothing better than the encouragement of a good friend.
3. A true friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else.
4. A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself.
5. t's the ones you can call up at 4:00 a.m. that really matter.
6. Misfortune shows those who are not really friends.
7. Do not protect yourself by a fence, but rather by your friends.
8. Never explain--your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.
9. Nothing changes your opinion of a friend so surely as success - yours or his.
10. Never refuse any advance of friendship, for if nine out of ten bring you nothing, one alone may repay you.
I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears. But I can listen to you and together we will search for answers. I can change your past with all its heartache and pain, Nor the future with its untold stories. But I can be there now when you need me to care. I can't keep your feet from stumbling. I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall. Your joys, triumphs, success, and happiness are not mine; Yet I can share in your laughter. Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge; I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask. I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your values, from me. I can only pray for you, talk to you, and wait for you. I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you, But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself. I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting, But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place. I can't tell you who you are. I can only be your friend.

8 random things about ME
okay so here goes, i may get 8 maybe a little less, but i'm tryin. i'm not really that interesting of a person.
1. i am a second child, only daughter and i love it.
2. i am also the only daughter that i knew growing up who could have a juice with my breakfast.
3. when i was younger, i always looked up with my brothers.
4. i slept two or three pillows with me at night.
5. i have a chocolate every morning when i wake up.
6. i want to be alone sometimes.
7. i think these past 4 years have been the most difficult in terms of making and developing good friendships. i have begun to wonder at times if it's my stage of life or if it's really somethin about me. i would say me, but then i think of all the good friends i've made prior to livin here and i have a great, good and lasting friendships.
8. i am not an organized person, but really want to be. i really think it's something that you're born with or not. is there any of you that would disagree with me? because if you do, i would love to know how to work toward being an organized person or if you have tips.

my view on travelling
i used to like to travel. i used to enjoy the long bus rides, the waiting at the airport, the packing, the mustering of strength before the commencement of the journey.
so what's killing my interest?
sticking to a schedule over strolling aimlessly and immersing self with the place visited: or reaching places which are nearly threatened locations (likely due to exploitation, over-crowding, too many metropolitan establishments: baguio, boracay, tagaytay). disappointments can also be personal.
so, what used to move me?
1) the feeling of independence/freedom.
one of the earlier positive feelings i've learned. this reminds me as to why as a kid walking alone to another area of our subdivision was already a treat. this can recur if one decides to separate from one's travel group (galera 2005, baguio 2008).
2) momentary escape.
trying to experience or get a feel/view of someone else's lifestyle. (cebu, boacay, palawan, galera, quezon;)
3) the promise of a discovery.
usually this happens without the help of a guidebook or someone else's travel blog.
4) a state of play with a very small touch of danger.
produces feelings of exhiliration, achievement, adventure, satisfaction, happiness. may be elicited by doing things for mountain trek and encountering unexpected forces from nature underwater current; thresher shark, sailing over waves bigger than the boat transport.
5) learning to appreciate and eventually to respect another's culture.
6) finally, getting to know the Creator a little bit more.
this was my strongest mover. that inspired me to take pictures of beautiful, lively yet peaceful things rather than dreary, violent, realist pictures of daily living.
may be attained by being sensitive to one's surroundings. the soft breeze, the powerful wind from the shore, a placid water surface, the beautiful, giant waves formed by a super typhoon, an odd-looking boulder beautifully balancing itself at a cliff, the nocturnal silence and intimidating darkness, imposing wind creatures.
so what now?
should i just join each and every trip that presents itself? maybe not necessarily. sometimes a trip is more rewarding if interest for the destination has been brewing over quite some time. if curiousity towards the location fails to decline, then it's likely a good indicator that the place has to be visited. do i miss out if i don't join a trip? to some extent, but usually it depends on the location being visited.
haayy..this is just me doing clearing-my-head kind of writing. i feel i want to join this trip, but my heart's not fully into it...im trying to understand why.
